As the snow melts and the sun finally sticks around a little longer, spring brings more than just flowers—it’s a season full of new life, curiosity, and wide-eyed wonder for kids and grown-ups alike. From birds chirping in the trees to tiny hooves in the barnyard, nature is buzzing with excitement.
This month, we’re celebrating baby animal season and sharing fun ways to explore this sweet part of springtime—plus a local opportunity to snuggle up with some fuzzy friends.
🐣 Why Spring Is Baby Animal Season
Spring is the perfect time for animals to bring new life into the world. With warmer temperatures and more food available, it’s a safe and cozy season for babies to be born and raised. Many animals—like deer, birds, rabbits, goats, and sheep—have their young in the spring because:
There's more daylight, which helps keep babies warm
Fresh plants are growing, giving moms plenty to eat
It gives babies all summer to grow before the colder months return
It’s also a magical time for observation—baby birds learning to fly, ducklings waddling after mom, and fawns hiding quietly in the tall grass.
